Abstract

Topic addressed: Undergraduate training of teachers who respond to the demands of 21st century society. Aim: To characterize a goal for the training of undergraduate teachers that responds to the social demands of the 21st century. Methods: Rational methods such as historical-logical, analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, modeling and systemic-structural-functional were used to conceive the proposed goal; the Focus Group technique with project researchers for its improvement and Discussion Groups with groups of teachers, as well as Content Analysis, to assess the relevance of the improved proposal.

Results: The goal was characterized as an essential component of the pedagogical model in accordance with the demands of the 21st century for the training of teachers at the University of Artemisa. Conclusions: The goal characterized is necessary, pertinent and has the potential to achieve, through undergraduate training, the education professionals demanded by the Cuban society of the XXI century.
