Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) offer different types of possibilities to the teaching-learning process, among which stand out, the creation of more flexible environments for learning, the elimination of space-time barriers between the teacher and the students, the increase in communication modalities, elements that favor dynamics in training environments. The study that is carried out seeks to know the perception of the teacher about the incorporation of ICT in higher education institutions, particularly at the University of Cienfuegos. The methodology used starts from the analysis of the literature related to studies of social perception, taking into account three variables of analysis: the teacher's perception, the degree of use of ICT and the impact that these may have on the teaching process. learning. The fundamental result of the research shows that teachers consider that ICT contribute to improve and develop their classes, allow the development of teaching materials for their teaching activities, they agree that their use promotes the interest and motivation of students, optimizes the abilities of teaching-learning and contribute to the improvement of the teaching process in general.
