Abstract

This article focuses on parental mediations related to audio-visual contents for children at the early years in life, from birth to 6 years. Currently, general societies are growing in media homes. Parental mediations are considered new forms of relationship in families. This reality has increased even more during COVID-19 pandemic, where educational content has entered into homes through screens. Parents and other family members have made a great effort to manage this situation in the best possible way. Therefore, it is necessary to identify which parental mediations exist and which may be more effective in families with young children. For that purpose, a literature review of scientific articles and international reports has been conducted. As a result, the main types of mediations have been identified: restrictive, active, coviewing and technical. Most of the scientific literature reviewed agrees that restrictive mediation is the most effective for young children.
