Abstract

In the epistemological and philosophical proposal to understand pedagogy as a disciplinary and professional field, the central nucleus of its work is education and Self-formation. The objective of this work will be to reconstruct Paulo Freire's formative proposal, understood as a process of awareness-raising, based on liberation, hope and autonomy. It is pertinent in this sense to remember that from the theories of formation in the disciplinary and professional field of pedagogy, the idea of self-formation refers to the constitution of subjects, to the configurations of the self, thus establishing a subtle difference with education, inasmuch as the latter is incitement or external influence, which can become in self-formation as an action of self-configuration of the subject (Muñoz, 2018).
