Abstract

In the present work, the pedagogical professional culture of university nursing teachers in the Ecuadorian context is reviewed, through a strategic model of permanent professional pedagogical training that influences the improvement of the performance of this professional. The objective of the research is to verify the relevance of the professional pedagogical training of nursing teachers at the State Technical University of Quevedo, Ecuador. For the development of the work, methods of the theoretical level were used for the conceptual interpretation of the data and for the review and reflexive critical analysis of the content of the bibliography, and of the empirical level: participant observation, survey, interview with the intention of specifying the needs and potentialities of the object of study. The result of the research consists of a strategic model containing pedagogical content to design and manage the professional training of nursing teachers, which was developed through pedagogical training. This training led to personal-professional growth based on the high self-esteem developed by the teachers and the expected effect of their exercise on the students.
