Academic procrastination and the use of ICT. A systematic review of the literature

Abstract

The use of Information and Communication Technologies in the educational field has increased for the development of the academic tasks carried out by the student at different educational levels, however, also the non-academic activities carried out, postponing the conclusion of homework. The objective of this study was to carry out a systematic review about academic procrastination and Information and Communication Technologies in Latin America, since it is identified that interest in the subject is increasing, but there is a gap around what that has been done so far. The method used was the systematic review of the literature was the one proposed by Petticrew and Roberts (2008), the search period spanned from 2014 to 2021. Among the most significant results, Peru was found as the country with the most research on this topic being object of study students of Superior Level. Spain is the country that addresses the issue from the level of Basic Education. Most of the investigations remain at a correlational descriptive level, so it will be of interest to propose solution proposals to the identified problem.
