Abstract

In the educational field, teaching the nomenclature of organic compounds is essential to understand Organic Chemistry. However, learning it can be challenging for students. The objective of this research is to establish the need to implement the use of ICT for the development of nomenclature of organic compounds. Various scientific methods (theoretical, empirical, mathematical or statistical) were used. The research has a mixed approach, descriptive and non-experimental in design. Surveys were carried out on 3 chemistry teachers and 170 students from the third year of secondary education, to then be validated by experts. The study reaches the conclusion that if there is a modification in the teaching-learning processes, they strengthen a more lasting teaching in the student's memory, achieving this, surpassing in more significant ranges the knowledge acquired with traditional teaching.
