Diagnosis of the preparation of General Chemistry teachers in Education for Sustainable Development

Abstract

The objective of this article is to characterize the initial state of Education for Sustainable Development (EDS) in the training of the average technician in the subject General Chemistry, of the Industrial Chemistry specialty, in four essential dimensions: knowledge, professional skills, socio-emotional skills and educational projection of sustainable development, through the application of theoretical and empirical methods, such as: document analysis, analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, observation and surveys. As a result, it was possible to identify the need for the preparation of teachers to direct the professional pedagogical process with a comprehensive perspective, in such a way that it allows them to make a better contribution to the training of the qualified workforce and contribute to boosting the economy of the country.
