Abstract

The study analyzed school conflict and its incidence on the academic performance of students in the tenth grade of General Basic Education (EGB). The objective of this research is to identify the level of school conflict that the students of Basic General Education in Santo Domingo have. A quantitative approach, a non-experimental - transversal design and a correlational - descriptive type of research were used. The sample consisted of 107 students and 27 teachers, which was obtained from a non-probabilistic convenience sampling. For data collection, two questionnaires were used, one addressed to the teacher called Cuestionario de Conflictividad Escolar CUVE 3- ESO CUVE 3 - ESO by Álvarez, et al., (2013) and the Ser Estudiante tests of the Instituto Nacional de Evaluación Educativa INEVAL (2016) to measure the level of academic performance. It was shown that the level of school conflict is moderate. Therefore, it was found that there is a level of conflict, but not so serious that it can be controlled and resolved.
