Abstract

Humanistic education is an imperative in the present society that faces the deterioration of interpersonal relationships generating problems such as violence, discrimination, racism, among others. In particular, it is urgent to review the training of teachers so that, in their professional work, teachers intervene to shape integral human beings in a culture of peace. The advances of this mixed research aim to identify the social problems that normal school students face in their training process. Observation scripts and interviews with key informants were conducted to conduct discourse analysis. The results obtained so far, allowed identifying categories related to social problems, such as discrimination, exclusion, violence, among others, with which they coexist and are becoming "normal" forms of interaction that are being accepted to the detriment of a humanistic education that value diversity in all its manifestations. The conclusions reached so far point to the need to promote different practices in the training institution where full respect for people is promoted; Training in the socio-emotional field is emerging as an important aspect that will contribute to achieving teachers who promote a culture of peace, so necessary in today's society.
