Abstract

It has been shown that beliefs influence the teacher´s behavior and his style of teaching. This report describes some beliefs of teacher’s trainers in Mexican Normal Schools, regarding to the skills they intend to develop in the students and which pedagogical implications arise in the social context as well as in the relationships established in the teaching process. Many actions taken by the teachers in their teaching practice originate from the belief that we have to take the knowledge from outside and transmit it to inexperienced students so that they can acquire it. These actions also show how they influence the teacher model to form.
