Abstract

This document is the result of a diagnostic study and the implementation of a pedagogical proposal with students in District University “Francisco José de Caldas” in Bogotá, Colombia. The study is developed due to the permanent complaints of teachers from different academic spaces at the university and, in general, from higher education, in relation to fact that students cannot produce nor read low level texts. The state of reading and writing is so critical that in several society spaces it is said that current professionals graduate form their majors and they cannot speak, read nor write with some levels of proficiency, reason why we decided to inquire where the problematic was focused from a general perspective.
