Abstract

The formation of the personality of the students is essentially a guiding task. In this regard, the educational psychologist has an important role in the performance of the guidance function by constituting the content of his profession in the solution to problems in the different areas of educational guidance and in the school, family and community contexts. The purpose of this article is to make a theoretical and methodological approach to the improvement of the training of the graduate in Pedagogy Psychology for the performance of the guiding function in their professional performance contexts. Scientific methods of the theoretical level are used for the analysis of the referents that support the subject, its processing and the arrival at conclusions. The main results are related to the determination of the potentialities of the disciplines Educational Guidance and Investigative Labor Training; as well as the need to propose a methodological procedure composed of actions that allow the guiding function to be carried out successfully in each of the areas and contexts of professional performance.
