Abstract

This article aims to review emerging trends in recent decades which have generated around historical studies in education, a discipline that has been rethought itself allowing it to redefine its object of study, and at the same time it has expanded its range of subjects, used new sources capable of meeting the new research questions, the ones that require a  much deeper and denser theoretical foundation to depict explicitly the educational processes that have taken place in societies through time.
