Binary identity in the song La maldición de Malinche, by Gabino Palomares

Abstract

In this article, it is analyzed the way in which issues relative to the construction of the national identity are manifested in Mexico from the song La maldición de Malinche, by Gabino Palomares. There is emphasized the conjunction of significant material from different fields, such as the history and the myth, and their operation within the song. The theoretical perspective consists of semiotics.
