Gender violence in public spaces. A look from the Manabita University

Abstract

The problems faced by Ecuadorian society related to the female population, have promoted the study of the main factors that affect gender violence. The article presents the results of a study conducted in the Portoviejo caput in the province of Manabí, based on the application of surveys and observations to 403 women from various parishes. Among the most significant results can be mentioned the most vulnerable women are those who attend public spaces, to which the university has paid attention for the role it plays in its prevention and treatment.
