Abstract

The accreditation of quality in higher education institutions in Latin America is a mechanism that has been established for continuous improvement in said level of education. The purpose was to analyze the concept of accreditation of quality from socioformation. A documentary research based on conceptual cartography was carried out. As a result, it is observed that the current accreditation processes carried out by external organizations are not promoting the improvement of the performance of educational programs and institutions, making it urgent to transform their practices. Socioformation is proposed as theoretical support in those processes that are carried out in higher education.
