Abstract

The objective of this work is to make a comparison of the operation of tutoring programs in a Higher Education Institution (HEI) in the state of Tabasco and Quintana Roo, Mexico, to identify the strengths and areas of opportunity of the Institutional Tutoring Program (PIT) in each HEI. An exploratory, expository documentary research was carried out through a review of the websites of both institutions. Among the main results are: 1) the implementation of peer tutoring, 2) the main differences in the allocation of hours for tutoring within the academic load of teachers. The importance of developing peer tutoring and developing strategies for virtual tutoring is concluded.
