Abstract

The National Federation of Karate Do in Cuba (FCK) is projected at the moment to develop and promote the Para-Karate modality; this discipline focuses on developing the ancient discipline of "kata" and represents a Karate Do modality. For such reasons the diagnosis of sport talents for the practice of the above modality is indispensable. Objective: to distinguish the dimensions and indicators directed to diagnosis of sport talents for the practice of Para-Karate in students who present visual disabilities. Method: Methods of the theoretical level were used: analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction and hypothetical - deductive and empiric methods: interviews, sueres and the method of experts. Results: Two dimensions are intended to keep in mind for the process of diagnosis of sport talents in students with visual disabilities for the practice of Para-Karate, the procedural aptitudinal and the social motivational, which are projected through indicators. Conclusions: The results of this investigation will contribute the pedagogic preparation of the sport educators or trainers of Karate Do in relation to of diagnosing students with visual disabilities for the practice of Para-Karate.
