Abstract

Virtualization of substantive processes in universities is particularly important for an education addressed as a social and dynamic system. This paper deals with virtualization in the ongoing training of education professionals, virtual learning environments, Distance Learning trends, theoretical starting positions for a Distance Learning didactics and the results of the Distance Learning (DL) in the training of teachers in Cuba. DL should become an education without distance, notwithstanding its distinctive characteristics of non-coincidence in space and time.
