Abstract

This article text addresses two principles that are directly related to higher education, the first refers to autonomy and the second to research, both of which are also directly linked to the attainment of educational quality; we begin by recognizing the importance of the task of the educational actors for this achievement, as well as the difficulties they have to overcome. We also reflect on the incidence of global public policies in the activities of Mexican public universities, in particular, this reflection we do from the postgraduate of the Autonomous University of Chiapas that is the case that concerns us.
