Abstract

This article collects the partial report of a comparative study of Lexical Availability (DL) of third year students of high school between the cities of Matanzas, Cuba, and Morelia, Mexico. The research focuses on the importance of the work of DL for the Didactics of Language and Literature. This study is not only conceived as a diagnosis that describes the level of lexical availability of young students by detecting their shortcomings and strengths, but is also a valuable tool for strengthening the theoretical-methodological preparation of teachers for the teaching of lexicon in the school.
