Abstract

The growing and sustained development of scientific knowledge, research methods and technology make the contribution of research projects to the National Education System (SNE) essential. The sectoral program “Cuban educational system. Development Perspectives” aimed at solving the main problems in the education of children, adolescents, youth and adults, contributes to raising the quality of education and the comprehensive training of current and future generations. The objective of this article is to analyze the contribution of the projects associated with the sectoral program to the III improvement of the National Education System (SNE) from the perspective of sustainable development. It is based how the research lines of the program contribute to the solution of the scientific problem raised in the improvement of the SNE related to the new forms of work that are implemented in the institutions and educational modalities aimed at improving their operation and the integral formation of the students, in correspondence with the demands and social conditions. It assesses how advances in educational sciences make it possible to find answers to the main current challenges. The novelty of the essay lies in the comprehensive analysis of the binomial CTI program-improvement of the SNE, as a basic relationship to achieve sustainable development.
