Abstract

Objective: To determine the effectiveness of a training plan in soft skills for technical professionals working as university professors at the Polytechnic School of Chimborazo (ESPOCH). Methods: The study population consisted of 315 permanent professors, and the training plan was implemented during the first phase in the first semester of the 2023 calendar year. Results: The applied training plan yielded a significance level of 0.3, indicating a statistical change between the two measurement points. This demonstrated the effectiveness of the intervention; therefore, the affirmative hypothesis was accepted, and the null hypothesis was rejected. Conclusions: In low-income countries, such as those in Latin America, it is essential to move toward a new educational model that emphasizes holistic preparation in contrast to a memorization-based or structural approach aligned with governmental policies.
